The 69 eyes on tour with Maryslim and Wednesday 13, presenting their new album Angels and playing gigs in germany after a longer break. That's definitley a reason to go to Hamburg!!
Maryslim, a Rock-Metal-Glam band from Sweden opened for the eyes and it seemed they had a lot o fans in the hall. Their straight melodies and good beats carried the audience away and they got bigger applause than a Supportband normally does.
To call Wednesday a Support band in this case is really a problem, cause after the show i had the feeling that they had been the main act. Wednesday himself is such charismatic singer that even the people that didin't know the band before fell in love with their music.
The show was powerfull and simple what undergirds my expectations about the main act has to be the best act, no matter in wich order they have to play !
When Wednesday 13 quit playing the audience became frenetic and applauded for minutes.
Then The 69 Eyes came on stage and sarted with their new show incliding a lot of songs from Angels. It would be better for the bandif they had chosen a few more old songs and not playing stuff like I am a Rocker as it seemed that Jyrki tries to be cool at any cost. But he must have forgotten, that older adult men needs another style than young gothic boys that they were years ago!
To be not unfair there were also some Highlights like Dance D'amour, Lost boys and Gothic Girl that hits the crowd and touches everyone. The still can do it, but they went a little astray with Angels and the new show. Let's hope they will find their way back!
