I
was really exited to these gigs and when I arrived at the venue to help
a little two of the bands waited outside- April from Helsinki (Finland)
and Exit Inside from Seesen (Germany). The other two finnish bands were
not in sight and arrived later. April were not planned but had a day
off on their tour and wanted to play 30 minutes and leave then to their
next gig in Berlin so the opened and yes I fell in love, finnish metal
ist the best, whatever comes...
Their sound
was maybe a bit too much for the small venue but as we all know, metal
has to be LOUD! In fact they are pretty good and also melodic! Check
them out!
Exit Inside
were next and at the first sight you just saw a school band of nice
boys but I could not finde the typical school-band sound in their own
rock songs. They sound more adult than they look and the singer
glistend as a perfect entertainer. He knew how to stimulate a very tame
crowd!
The Jade
was the unknown quantity to me but I liked their show. Maybe frontman
Wille Rosen trys to be a bit too much the Ville Valo but in the end it
works. They have a women on the drums what makes them rare in the Rock
'n' Roll world. They play goth-rock or better call it dark-rock that is
very typical for finnish bands and that is loved by so many people.
Matthau and
his band-mates played at last and it was the first non-acoustic show I
saw of this band. Hell yeah, Rock 'n' Roll is still alive and as some
fans showed you can dance pogo to Rock 'n' Roll. Yeah why not. Ok the
girls close to them were a bit upset but most people had fun watching
it, and so had Matti. You could really feel the joy of the band
to start a tour like this, in a small venue with a few but good mooded
people in private atmosphere. And we all enjoyed it too.

Berlin was
different, not that the shows changed so much but there were a lot more
people, more Teen-girls, that were screaming and pushing to the stage.
The stage was way too small for The Jade and the atmosphere much hotter
blooded. But it was also good, just different. The highlight was when
Matthau took place at the drums an his drummer Simo sang Wicked Game...
a bit off keyed but funny at all. A video of it is in our Video
section! The after show party satisfied all the fans and it will be
hard to top such a tour next year!
